Behavior Analysis Studies Program Student Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the entire curriculum Behavior Analysis Studies Students will:

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with consumers, 同行, 教师, other health care providers, 病人, 家庭成员.
    • Prepare and deliver oral presentations in front of an audience of 教师 and 同行.
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical, fiscally responsible and culturally competent practice.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant ethical guidelines and demonstrate professional behaviors across environments.
    • Demonstrate competency of issues associated with and best practices for maintaining confidentiality and secure record keeping.
  • 检查, 评估, 诊断, 建立预后, and provide intervention for behavioral concerns in individuals with autism and related disorders.
    • Demonstrate competency in data collection and analysis, 偏好评估, functional behavior assessment, and treatment development for autism and related disorders.
    • Demonstrate competency in basic principles and advance concepts that underlie clinical practice.
    • Demonstrate ability to apply general treatment services to other settings.
  • Critically 评估 and apply evidence as a basis for practice, determine the effectiveness of intervention(s), and demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning.
    • Demonstrate competency in applied, experiential learning environments.
    • Demonstrate competency in single-case experimental designs and use of these to affect positive behavior change.
    • Fully complete an independent research project that is appropriate for scientific dissemination.
